The Comedy Club Kuala Lumpur
Okies, in my previous post, i did mentioned that i went for a stand up comedy show.
Warning: Laughing too hard can cause belly-aches, a spinning head and a sense of euphoria.
Maybe most of you guys never heard of it. Well, this month was actually their first show in KL. Technically, they had a preview last month, but its not open for public yet. Started July 23rd was their first public show, and i was lucky to go there.
Linda was the one who recommended this show to me, after she went for the special preview show in June. After that, she can’t stop talking bout it.
At first, i was reluctant to go, as most of my fren were a bit pessimist bout the show. Plus the ticket were a bit expensive(well we all are a bit cheapskate…)
Then i told apache aka syah razy bout the comedy club…n he was so excited to go. He asked me to follow him. At first i told him, i don’t want to go since im not well. But he keep begging me to go. So i went.
The show was hosted by Jonathan Atherton…he’s an aussie and a stand up comedian himself. Very funny fella and he knows well how to make us, Malaysian laugh, since he a bit familiar with our culture and also our language. Keep making jokes bout Kg Baru which is hilarious coz as we all know, Kg Baru is not so baru at all….hahahahahahahahaha
I love the part where he asked how many americans in the house and when the crowd reply, he told them to fuck off….hahahahahahahahahaha…”Look who’s outnumbered now….”
The line up for July show were:
Douglas Lim (Malaysia)
Greg Fleet (Aussie)
Hung Le (Technically a Vietnamese but grew up n make his name in Aussie)
The show started with Douglas, which is very hilarious, i must say. Since he’s a malaysian, its easier for him to make us laugh with jokes regarding racist and our current political issues. Really enjoyed his show. Greg was a bit let down for me. Maybe because i dun get those aussie joke he made. Also, i noticed the crowd weren’t laughing as when Douglas perform. The final performer, Hung Le was a real blast. With his ‘fucked up refugee’ stories, he made us all laugh histerically….
Overall, i must say that i really enjoy the nite. Im looking forward for another show from The Comedy Club KL. Maybe in August and to all my fren, i do recommend you guys to go. Well the tix might be a bit expensive but after the show, u guys can partay @ Zouk….hehehehehehehehe
Here are some of our photo there….not too many though, as we are all busy laughing….
